What is this horror movie I can't think of?

I am trying to find a movie but can't think of the name..here are some
details I remember about it:

-A guy and his son live in some type of haunted house
-The mirror in the bathroom pulls them in at some point or something
like that
-At another point the father's old military general (ghost) is trying
to force him to kill him or something and gets mad when he doesn't
